Dr. Kester earned his bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College before going on to earn his medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic residency at the prestigious New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital (formerly Hospital for Joint Diseases) in New York City. 

Dr. Kester also received specialized training in the treatment of shoulder, elbow, and knee disorders in athletes while completing a sports medicine fellowship at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. There he assisted as a team physician for the Chicago Bulls, White Sox, Steel and DePaul Blue Demons.
